After a considerable amount of time sanding and scuffing the “new” and original respectively, I can say without a doubt that they’re ready for paint! :)

Kinja'd!!!

The “new” one above had been sitting in the sun for who knows how long and had very thin paint remaining. The original one below had all of it’s paint/powdercoat or whatever it was, so I simply scuffed it up and smoothed it down!

Thank goodness work just ended!! :D

I read that as “ready for print” and got very excited for a moment.

So, what was the decision for painting them? Just regular matte black, or?

Painting them gloss black epoxy, then a combination of matte and metallic clear coats.

I'm curious as to why. :p

I thought you were going to 3-d print a new door handle which, while kinda pointless, would have been a cool project.

That would have been badass. Unfortunately I'm not that intelligent nor knowledgeable with 3d printing.

Because of my friend group in college I see a lot of “I just 3d-printed some shoes for my cat!” type of posts, so I’m used to seeing it I guess.
